40 barrels, I had to shorting it a little. If I order another barrel 9mm barrel to use for major, I will make up some of my own dummy rounds and send them to LWD.Īs far as my OAL using the LWD. He tried the ammo in the barrel and ended up throating it a little then shipped it out. I told Dan how long I wanted to load my reloads (based on Coltgov's info) and it turns out he found some dummy loads in the shop that a previous customer sent him that was close to the bullet profile/ OAL I wanted to use. Dan from LWD recommended that I do this for my 9mm major project. Have them test the rounds in the barrel to make sure they fit, if not, they can throat the barrel for you. You can load some dummy rounds up and send them to LWD. I load to a length of 1.135-40 right now. I want a fully supported chamber, but I don’t want to be fiddlefarting around with shorter cartridge OAL and making them fit the chamber. So if reports turn out that the slides are reliable and equal to OEM maybe a better setup would be a LWD slide and a KKM barrel. If anyone's interested, I'll try to remember to update with any further progress, but I've been shooting too much 10mm lately, so I'll probably shoot something else the next trip or two, unless 10mm drops some in price.I haven't compared support between Lone Wolf and a stock barrel, but I can tell you the chambers on Lone Wolf barrels tend to run extremely tight. Will also bring a very accurate KKM barrel to try in the slide for next time. Or maybe the Glock adjustable rear sight I put on the LW slide is bouncing around a bit?Īfter cleaning, I may install a fixed rear sight and see if that helps. Not sure if that would be enough to cause. It seems there’s slightly more play between the barrel and the slide opening. My final issue is the mediocre accuracy of the LW slide compared to the factory slide. second problem solved? I’ll try polishing the rest of the engagement areas of the LW barrel and see if that eliminates the failure to RTB. I did discover, though, that the problem went away entirely if I swapped the LW barrel for a Glock factory 10mm barrel. This was with the RSA that came with the parts kit, but it also happened with an NDZ 20 lb RSA from the factory G20.3. After firing, the trigger wouldn’t engage, and I had to take my thumb and push the slide forward a millimeter or two. I did have several occasions, though, where the slide failed to completely return to battery. Not a single failure to ignite this time, and no failures to feed. I took Blazer 200 grain and American Eagle 180 grain for ammo. I also polished the barrel chamber and feed ramp with Flitz polish and a Dremel with a felt polishing tip.įor the second trip, I took the LW frame, slide, and barrel, but also brought a G20.3. When I returned from the range, I cleaned the frame, completely disassembled and cleaned the slide, removed the channel liner and installed a new one, making sure I had it fully seated just in case that contributed to the initial problem (didn’t read about the S&B hard primers until a day or so later). I only had S&B 10mm for that outing, and later found several online complaints about S&B 10mm having hard primers. Had numerous failures to feed and failures to ignite despite a good dimple on the primer. Not sure if the third party purchased their kits from LW, or if they both get them from the same distributor/manufacturer.įor the first range trip, I took the LW slide, a LW 10mm threaded barrel, and a LW Timberwolf Large frame. Although it wasn’t described as a LW kit, the packaging and printing on the individual parts bags were identical to what you get from LW. LW was out of 10mm slide parts kit, but I found a parts kit from a third party. Took about 6 weeks to arrive, which was within the delivery timeframe for flash nitriding on the website. Ordered a bare OEM version LW AW 20.3 10mm slide in April and also ordered the flash nitride finish.

For the confection-themed dessert, home bakers will try out a Cotton Candy Parfait whose box comes with plenty of treats reminiscent of a day at the circus. The final images on these reels are very small – just 11.5mm x 10mm – and work best with bold and colourful photos. The format of viewer images is landscape only, upright images won’t work unless severely cropped. We will need seven images (or seven stereo pairs) to make up one reel. We can't wait to see what's next. You can supply 2D or 3D images for this View-Master compatible reel, although of course only 3D images view as 3D in a view-master viewer – ordinary 2D photos look great though. Luckily for us it would continue with its range of animated character slide sets, though. The View-Masters are still popular today, although in 2008 Fisher Price announced it would cease producing slides of tourist attractions. It's so famous in fact, that the toy has appeared in the movies - in Dawn Of The Dead and Hot Shots! Part Deux to name but two. Since 1939, 25 variations of the View-Master have been rolled out, including a Talking View-Master and different-coloured designs, and 1.5 billion disks have been produced. Remember getting those red and green plastic glasses free with your weekly comic or copy of the TV Times? It's probably still stuck down the side of some peoples' sofas. The View-Master reached its peak of popularity in the early 80s when it went hand in hand with all the 3D programmes TV channels were clamouring to broadcast at that time. With a heavily slant towards tourism still remaining, spots such as Universal Studios, Marineland and the Detroit Zoo were also quick to produce disks. A maker of Super 8 film and slides, they were able to license to rights to dozens of films and TV shows over the next two decades. In 1966, a company called The General Aniline and Film Corporation (or GAF) purchased Sawyer’s invention. Soon, kids everywhere were begging for a View-Master. This deal included the rights to their Stereochrome viewers and, more importantly, Disney characters. Then, in 1951, Sawyer acquired the Tru-Vu stereo Film Company. They purchased a staggering 10,000 View-Masters and over six million reels. When America went to war in the early 40s, the military took interest in the devices as a cheap way to train troops. A year later, they set out to create their first prototype of the red wonder we all know and love. When Gruber crossed paths with a tourist named Harold Graves during a visit to the Oregon Caves National Monument, this idea turned into an actuality. In 1939, he envisioned a contraption that could take a slide, consisting of two overlapping images, that when looked at through two eyepieces would present a three-dimensional picture. The responsibility for this - well, the View-Master in general - lies with aphotography buff named William Gruber. It was wonderful, apart from when the unreliable trigger mechanism resulted in the frames not quite aligning. Each frame also featured a line of text to give a bit more depth to the stories. There were all kinds of discs produced for the View-Master - from educational wildlife sets, The Seven Wonders Of The World and even a 25-volume anatomy of the human body, through to tales of Popeye and Doctor Who, Star Trek, The Man From U.N.C.L.E, Here's lucy and The Beverly Hillbillies. Basically, the View-Master was a special kind of slide viewer - back when people took slides instead of photographs - which took circular slide discs with pictures of your favourite cartoons on them. It was our first foray into virtual reality, after all. Iconic in its design, everyone remembers the clunky red plastic GAF 'Model J' Viewer that had us all oohing and aahing. Ok, so not all kids had to resort to sweet wrappers back in the 80s - if they were very lucky, they had a View-Master! What are we talking about? The quest for 3D effects, that's what. Kids of the Noughties get their fix from a trip to the IMAX cinema kids of the 90s would crowd into a sick-inducing Simulater at the seaside and kids of the 80s held coloured sweetie wrappers against their eyes. With their body covered in a soft fluffy coat, a round face with sparkly round eyes, a small precious nose, cute hanging ears, and a puffy short tail that curls over their back, they are true Teddy Bears in appearance. Although their size can differ slightly from one dog to the next, they generally average in height from 9 to 12 inches and in weight from 6 to 14 pounds for a full grown Teddy Bear dog (adult Teddy Bear dog). Collectible Stuffed Bears and Special Editions While I'm mostly focused on the Prime games I've also put a lot of attention to making sure DKCR is properly supported in fact I've had to go pretty far out of my way overhauling some parts of the editor to account for differences between the Prime games and DKCR to ensure everything would work in every game, so don't go thinking DKCR support is just an afterthought I'm very very interested in seeing some cool stuff done with it! so hopefully in the future it will be possible to create entire new levels from scratch. There's a lot more features planned for future releases, but that's what it can do so far! Going forward I plan to support features like importing custom geometry and creating completely custom assets like animations, strings, etc. Right now it's limited to just editing script layouts in existing levels you can spawn new objects, delete them, edit their properties, and script connections between them and other objects in the level. Here's a picture of a DKCR level in the editor: I've been working on an editor for almost a couple years called Prime World Editor that I finally released the other day! While it is more intended as a Metroid Prime editor (hence the name), it fully supports Donkey Kong Country Returns as well, and is able to load any map from the game, edit them, and resave them so you can play your edits ingame on Dolphin (or on a homebrewed Wii). Hey! I'm the person who started the Metroid Prime hacking thread on metroid2002 that Jesse mentioned in his post. The editor is written in c# by the way so I hope there are people here who are able to program the tool with me! I have a download link laying around somewhere but I wanted to wait with posting it here when I got a stable release again. The rest like editing the level itself (Which is the MREA file) is for me yet a bit too advanced. The edits actually work in dolphin, I haven't yet tested on my wii. It got a sort of database, its basically just naming the files from an outside source. Prealpha CMDL and TXTR converter (Very pre alpha, especially the CMDL converter. Import files with compression(or without if already is decompressed) Exporting files with or without decompression However, they gave me information on files and how they work so I was able to include actual editors in my tool. I actually started developing a Tool to edit PAK files, the guys on metroid hacking made a tool which can properly extract the files from a pak but it wasn't really centered around DKCR, plus I already had started the Tool a while before I found that board. The files inside the pak aren't named excluding a few files but its almost nothing so I don't read these names. There isn't like a folder with all objects or something like in mario galaxy, for every level there is a file within containing every data which is displayed in the level. pak and everything for the level is inside the pak. These guys also did some stuff regarding DKCR and documented alot actually, so I will just refering the documentation this wiki they created. Metroid is made by retrostudios so it has the same file systems and such, thus this board had only one thread about hacking metroid prime. so by google searching I came across a metroid forum. But these are not this detailed and I only documented like the main File. Regarding the documentation of the files, I actually made my own documentations and put it somewhere online. I am glad I found this board since people here might actually be more interested in hacking this game! so I'll get right into it. Here is a list of common chord spellings on piano: You can find the note degrees by counting up the scale (from the 1st note), in a sequence. minor), will be made using a different, specific spelling for that chord. But chords with different qualities (E.g. Every major chord, is spelt with the same spelling. What Are Chord Spellings?Ĭhord spellings are the note degrees (labelled numerically) that are used to make up a chord. For instance, if you want D minor, use the D major scale, & the minor chord spelling. Once you put it all together, you have your very own C major triad!Īpply this to any of the spellings, and any key, to get the chord you want. If you do this your 1st note (root note), will be the C, the 3rd note, the E, and the 5th note, the G. If we wanted to build a C major chord, we'd take our C major scale, and start counting the notes as we play them across the Piano. To make a triad, all you have to do is take these spellings and apply them to the key you want your chord to be, and choose the quality.

Next.js/Vercel prevents the need for installing common dependencies you'd use with Express. Let's explore how to re-think our application to utilize serverless. They'll render their own error pages (500), which prevents Vercel from discarding the function and resetting its state. ErrorsĮxpress.js will swallow errors that can put the main function into an undefined state unless properly handled. Consider using a serverless friendly Realtime provider. Instead, we need a client that subscribes to data events and a Serverless Function that publishes new data. They should not subscribe to data events. Serverless Functions have maximum execution limits and should respond as quickly as possible. To ensure uptime, consider using a serverless friendly database or connection pooling. All connections to the database need to be consumed quickly. Serverless Functions will create multiple database connections as traffic increases. To prevent computing on demand and ensure cached content can be used in the future, we need to set up the correct headers. Remember that Serverless Functions don't keep managed state. Computing the same response for every request is not only expensive but highly inefficient. Otherwise, you might be tempted to install a view engine like Pug, EJS, or similar. If you're using Next.js, then React is your view layer. Drawbacks and Edge Cases Templating and View Engines We recommend using this approach instead of express.static. Serving static files with Vercel allows us to do static asset hoisting and push to our Global Edge Network. Instead, we can add a /public folder to the root. To serve static content, we would normally do app.use(express.static('public')) in our main file app.js. For example, the following API route pages/api/user.js handles a json response:Īdding rewrites to vercel.json. We recommend using API Routes with Next.js to create Serverless Functions.Īny file inside the folder pages/api is mapped to /api/* and will be treated as an API endpoint instead of a page. This is an anti-pattern, as Serverless Functions should serve one purpose. When we deploy a server (Express.js based application) within a Serverless Function, we are executing a full server implementation on each request. Developers focus on business logic – functions that return value. Plus, there is no overhead managing and maintaining servers. It's fully automated and can scale up in milliseconds. Pieces of backend code run in stateless compute environments that are triggered by events (like requests) and may last for one invocation. The serverless approach is quite different. As you can imagine, this is difficult to implement correctly. As you scale your application, you'll need to consider: cost, flexibility, security, rapid provisioning, and much more. Traditional APIs are hosted using a running server. Software failure outside Node.js or hardware failure. The server shuts down either manually or by a scheduled task.An unhandled exception (error) is thrown. This server will be running for the lifetime of the application, or until: It's a popular choice among developers due to its flexibility, adoption, and trusted ecosystem. What is Express.js?Įxpress.js is a minimal and flexible Node.js web framework. It's designed for the frontend experience build Hybrid frontends with tools like Next.js, develop lightweight event-driven APIs, and deploy to our Global Edge Network. Vercel is a cloud platform to deploy frontend applications. First, let's understand what we are trying to achieve when deploying Express.js apps to Vercel. In this guide, we will cover each step in-depth to deploy an Express.js application to Vercel using Serverless Functions. Express.js is a popular framework used with Node.js.
